The Artegenesis framework
An interplay between community murals, Créateurs and Aesthetic Witnesses.
A process that can begin again
The proposed framework connects an initiating artistic process with its continuing social life. These are interdependent roles and relationships, rather than a fixed ladder of progress.
From collective authorship to local stewardship
Culturally responsive listening, intermodal workshops and collective composition inform the mural. Preparation, painting, preservation and inauguration can create further opportunities for participation and witnessing. Local stewardship supports continuity after visiting facilitators leave.
An interpretive model
The interactive model below is an editorial interpretation of the dissertation’s framework. It is not an original dissertation figure or a validated measurement instrument.
